Holistic Math and Science study along with a Self-Mastery Program using principles from Life-Changing Service's Eternal Warriors program.
Each student and parent team will be required to choose a Math curriculum and level and learn at least one lesson a day. We will develop science and math time lines of important discoveries and their influences upon society. Each student will be responsible for at least 50 events, and will be given an oral exam on their timeline. We will read one book per semester. The first semester book will be: 5 Equations that Changed the World. We will learn scientific method, charting and journaling, finding patterns, seeking inspiration, in-depth analysis, etc. In addition, we will incorperate the Eternal Warrior's principles, which includes analysis of behavior, and use this to set and accomplish goals.
There will be at least 2 hours per day of required work with this class. Since classroom time is limited, most of the work will happen at home. Parents will need to stay engaged as their student's daily mentor. We will work to keep parents abreast of what is being taught and discussed in class.
Second semester will include a student chosen Science Fair Project. Each student will need:
- A three subject notebook.
- A brand new journal
- Index Cards
- The book: 5 Equations That Changed the World
